Meehan Crist

Meehan Crist is writer in residence in biological sciences at Columbia University. She is also a frequent contributor and podcast host for the London Review of Books. Her work has appeared in publications such as the New York Times, The AtlanticThe NationScientific American, and Science, and was selected for Best American Science and Nature Writing 2021. Her awards and honors include the Rona Jaffe Foundation Writers’ Award, a Silvers Grant for Work in Progress, a Sloan Foundation Book Grant, and fellowships from MacDowell, The Blue Mountain Center, Ucross, and Yaddo. She is co-editor of What Future 2018 (Unnamed Press), a contributor to How Do We Think About Population in the Anthropocene? (Prickly Paradigm), and a founding member of NeuWrite, an international network of workshops for scientists and writers. Her nonfiction book, Is It OK to Have a Child?, will be published by Random House in March 2027.
